Willard Stone

March 24, 1939 — June 26, 2020

Willard McLaughlin Stone (81), beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather & uncle left this earth surrounded by family in Provo, Utah on June 26, 2020.  He was born March 24, 1939 to Herman Francis Stone and Phoebe McLaughlin Stone in Los Angeles California, the younger of two boys.  He attended and later graduated from Van Nuys High School.  He later met and married the love of his life Sandra Jacobson.  They were sealed for time and all eternity on June 12, 1959 in the Los Angeles Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Together they raised two wonderful children Joseph and Jayne Stone.  He worked most of his life gardening and maintaining the public building landscapes and properties for the city of Los Angeles.

Willard loved gardening, fishing, hunting and all things nature.  He particularly loved spending time with family and spoiling grandchildren.  He was a lifetime member of Future Farmers of America and enjoyed raising animals for shows and competitions.  He humbly served in many calling in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a faithful and passionate servant until he was physically unable to continue to serve.  He was also proud to have served his country in the United States Army and loved his country.

Willard is survived by his beloved wife Sandra, his son Joseph (Codie) Stone, daughter Jayne Stone (Tony Camarena), 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his brother George Stone.  He is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Phoebe Stone and a sister-in-law Pat Stone.

Graveside services will be on Wednesday July 1, 2020 at 12:00 pm in the American Fork Cemetery 600 North Center Street, American Fork, UT. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:45 am at the Anderson Sons & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North American Fork UT.
