Russell Scotty Waller

1953 - 2021

OBITUARY Print

Russell (Scotty) Waller, beloved son, uncle and friend passed away at age 67 on March 13, 2021, of congestive heart failure.  He was born on June 3, 1953 to JB Waller and June Humes Waller, in Provo, Utah.

After high school graduation he completed his degree in home construction and began his life as a carpenter.  He eventually acquired a General Contractor's license.  Years later he took on a new endeavor with the family business in the oil industry, managing a drilling crew.  This work took him away from his friends and his home - so there would be one more career change.

He owned and operated two different restaurant/bar locations, one in Utah county and one in Wasatch county.  This work turned out to be his work passion and true calling in life.  He loved engaging and interacting with people and never stopped laughing no matter what life circumstance was presented to him.

He is survived by- sister, Rita (David) Olson and niece, Natalie (Daniel) Thompson.

Russ - your family and friends will miss and love you for the rest of our lives.

As requested by Russ - there will be no funeral service.

Scotty has been a part of my family since the day i met him around 15 years ago. He would coming shopping at the store i worked at after the bar closed. The story goes that he saw me and decided he wanted me to work at his bar. He started by saying when he came in then eventually asking me to come have coffee in the mornings. It took him a year before i started to work there haha. And im so glad that he made that decision because he became like a father figure to me. He spent most every Christmas with my kids and i. But couldn't this last year because of virus. I have many great memories. My heart is broken and i will miss him so much! He was one the best friends i could could ever ask for.. He would always tell me every time we talked i was always his favorite employee haah. Thank u scotty for everything thank u for treating me like a daughter thank u for saying hello all those years ago! I love u and will miss u so much and there will always be a hot cup of coffee for u on Christmas morning.
