MayRene Goul

August 26, 1923 — December 13, 2020

MayRene Marsh Goul was born August 26, 1923 in Lehi, Utah to Joseph Franklin and May Lillian Hackett Marsh. She died on December 13, 2020 in Lehi.

MayRene was raised in Alpine, Utah, where she lived until she entered Nurses’ Training in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from American Fork High School in 1941, earned her RN from LDS Hospital/University of Utah and a BSN from California State University in Los Angeles, California. She spent many happy hours in the nursing profession both as a nurse and teacher.

She married Donald D. Goul on May 18, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple. Two children were born to them: John Michael Goul formerly of Los Angeles and Suzanne Holland of Lehi.

A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mrs. Goul served in various callings including President of Primary, Mutual, and Relief Society. She served as President of the San Fernando California Stake Relief Society for almost 10 years.

No matter where she lived, whether in her home, in her profession or through her church service, Mrs. Goul was happiest when she was serving others. She organized, participated in and completed countless humanitarian projects to bless those in need. In addition to serving others, her family has always been her greatest source of happiness.

Mr. and Mrs. Goul served a Welfare Services Mission to the Asian Refugees in the Colorado Denver Mission.

The Gouls moved to Southern California in 1948 where they lived in Granada Hills and Lake Arrowhead. In 2005 they moved back to Utah, locating in Lehi.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne, nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, and son, John, as well as two brothers and four sisters.

Services will be held on Monday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi 33rd Ward,650 East 3200 North.  A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, December 27th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary Lone Peak Chapel, 614 West 11000 North, Highland and 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at Lehi 33rd Ward, 650 East 3200 North, Lehi. Burial will be at the Alpine City Cemetery.
