Lisa Jorgensen

Lisa Jorgensen 39, passed away on August 31st 2022, in Chula Vista California. Lisa was born in Salt Lake City on June 28th, 1983. She graduated from Lone Peak High School in Highland Utah in May 2001. Lisa loved sports and growing up she participated in baseball, basketball, then lacrosse and swimming on Lone Peak High School teams. Lisa went to UVU for a semester then at the age of 19 join the United States Navy in 2003. She did her basic training in Great Lakes Illinois then additional training in Pensacola Florida.

Lisa was then assigned to the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln CVN 72, with the homeport at that time in Everett Washington. Her first assigned job on the carrier was doing “chalks and chains” on the flight deck, which basically is tying down the aircraft to the deck after it has landed. Later she was promoted to Yeoman in the Air Office of the carrier.

Lisa participated in the humanitarian effort conducted by the Navy in Aceh Indonesia, conducted from January 2005 into February, after a devastating tsunami killed 225,000 people from a dozen countries.

Lisa received a Bachelor of Science from Phoenix University while working for Navy Federal Credit Union then later as a civilian for the Navy in San Diego.

She married Jesse Armitage in 2014. Lisa loved her family especially her nieces and nephews and her cats. Lisa is known for being hard working, kind, spontaneously funny and generous. She and Jesse participated in about 28 various 5k 10k charity fund raising runs in the various places they lived.

She is survived by Jesse Armitage, her parents Steve and Karen Jorgensen, her sisters Gina Richards, Jamie Bergman, Tami Niven, Tara Nicosia, and brothers Daniel and Jacob Jorgensen

The funeral service for Lisa will be held Friday September 16th, at 1:00 pm at the Alpine 7th ward chapel on 890 North Heritage Hills Drive, Alpine Utah. A viewing will be held at the Anderson and Son’s Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 West 11000 North, Highland, Utah 84003, on Thursday evening 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm., as well as Friday from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm prior to the funeral service.
