John Jason Tolman

August 8, 1971 ~ January 1, 2022 (age 50)

Obituary

Everyone knew when John Jason Tolman entered the room, his booming voice and
contagious energy were palpable. He had a zest for life that was cut short when he
suddenly collapsed and died on January 1, 2022, at the age of 50 in Mount Pleasant, Utah.
He was born on August 8, 1971, in American Fork, Utah.
Jason attended American Fork High School where he played football and wrestled.
He poured his heart and soul into his work and built a career in heavy equipment
construction as a crew boss and general contractor. All the people he worked with
absolutely admired him. He touched everyone’s lives and is loved by so many who knew
him.
He never knew a stranger as he made everyone feel welcome. Anyone who truly
knew him knew he had a big heart, he would give you anything, even if it wasn’t his to give.
He could make you laugh even when you were mad at him. He loved fiercely and deeply,
and we can take comfort in knowing that he is at peace in the company of those who
preceded him in death, his beloved grandparents William and Loyola Ezell, and his best
friend Lenny.
Jason proposed to and planned to marry his longtime partner and best friend, Julie
Johnson. They had their home in Mount Pleasant, Utah, and enjoyed golfing, traveling,
fishing, and their french bulldogs, Roxy and Mabel. They had so many hopes and goals for
their lives together and to start building their dream home on horse property here in
Sanpete County. Jason was an avid cook and a pitmaster with his Yoder Smoker and loved
cooking for his family and friends. He was often found in his shop having a drink with his
buddies after a hard day’s work.
He is survived by his fiance Julie Johnson, parents Diane (Brent) Smith, and Little
John Tolman, Brothers Cory (Gina) Tolman and Kirk Tolman, daughter Tayden Tolman,
uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends who were his extended
family.
Funeral services will be held at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 6141 W. 11000 N.
Highland, UT on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with an evening viewing Friday,
January 7, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning 9-1045 a.m.

When Tomorrow Starts Without Me by Erica Shea Liupaeter

When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
that an Angel came and called my name,
and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready,
in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind,
all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
for all life,
I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
so much yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe
see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.
