On Saturday, May 2nd Jill Anne Coomes, our beautiful, angelic daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away in the arms of her loving mother, due to complications of pneumonia. Jill was born August 9th, 1964 in American Fork, Utah to Jim and JoAnn Coomes. Her delivery was difficult resulting in brain damage and cerebral palsy. Due to her seizure disorder, she was not expected to have a long life, but her strong, loving spirit conquered and she went on to live 55 years. Her life was filled with the love of family, friends, and caretakers. She was a resident at the Utah State Developmental Center, coming home to visit weekends and holidays. Jill had a love of Cheetos, Coke, pizza, music, toys, books, and dolls. Everyone loved Jill’s screams of laughter and special tight hugs. Every new child born into the family was a recipient of Jill’s welcoming embrace. Jill had an infectious smile and taught all who loved her many lessons in compassion, and empathy. Jill was preceded in death by her father, Jim, her grandparents and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her mother, JoAnn Coomes, sister, Joell (Ron) Woolstenhulme, brother Jon (Marla) Coomes and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the many loving staff that cared for Jill during her lifetime. We consider them her extended family.
