Jean Denise Iund

August 28, 1950 — March 28, 2021

It was August 28th, 1950, when seeing the need to send another Angel, Heavenly Father's plan evolved, and Jean Denise Bowman was born in Alhambra, Los Angeles County, California. Her arrival brightened her first home, a small but comfortable two bedroom rental in Monterey Park, California. There she was loved by her parents Newell Keith Bowman (born March 23rd, 1922) and Jean Annette Watters Bowman (born September 21st, 1925)) and her two older brothers.

Not long after her birth, her parents purchased their first home in Whittier, Los Angeles county, California. Denise is the 3rd child of what would become 7 living children in the home in Whittier, California. There she received a public education, beginning in Kindergarten and culminating in High School Graduation.

Attending the Whittier 1st Ward and then the Whittier 6th Ward, she received the Ordinances of Baptism and Confirmation, and she grew in Faith and Knowledge. During her High School years, she attended and enjoyed early morning Seminary. With a firm testimony of the reality and divinity of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father, through the Gifts of the Spirit, Denise continually developed a committed Discipleship for Our Lord, and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

Following High School, Denise first attended Rick's College in Rexburg, Idaho, and then Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah. While there, she met Donald (Don) Lindy Iund.  They fell deeply in love and were married and sealed in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on January 15th, 1972, with a reception at the Whittier Stake Center that evening.

Denise and Don quickly began their family, with their first daughter born just 10 months and 6 days after their marriage. For more than 5 years and with 3 children, they lived in various locations in Southern California, before moving to Utah for most of the remainder of her mortal estate. They lived in Centerville, Kearns, American Fork, Saratoga Springs, Lehi, Gilbert (Arizona), Eagle Mountain, Riverton, and finally Salem, Utah.

Denise is a wonderful mother and wife. With remarkable devotion, she blessed Don's life, the lives of her 6 children, and many hundreds of family members, neighbors, and friends. Everyone could count on her for pure love and inspired support. While she faced more than her share of trials and hardships, she never relented, but tenaciously defeated each trial as it arose. She humbly accepted the Will of God and allowed Him to prevail in her life. With each triumph, she became more polished and more capable.

During her 70 years, she served in many presidencies and in all church auxiliaries, but her greatest love and service was in the Priesthood responsibility of Family History and Temple Work. Wherever she lived, she served as a Family History Consultant, and during the past 50 years, she identified thousands of ancestors and blessed their eternal lives with Temple Ordinances. This past week, following her passing on March 28th, 2021, she has been greeted by the Loving Arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ, her loving parents, Newell and Jean, and thousands of the ancestors, whose lives she helped to bless through her endless hours of searching Family History records. That is the perfect description of an Angel on Earth! Well Done - Good and Faithful Servant!

Denise is survived by her husband, Don, her children, Yvonne (Jason) Rodabaugh, Aaron (Ashley Reese), Amanda (Doug) Stephens, Evan (Lindy Thompson), Alex (Crisanne Nielson), Jeffery, 21 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way, as well as her 4 brothers and 2 sisters and their spouses, and many dearly loved Iund Family members.

The Funeral will be held on Thursday, April 1st, 2021, at 11 a.m. - at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Salem 1st Ward Chapel (60 South Main Street, Salem, Utah). There will be a viewing at the Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., followed by the family prayer.
