Dorothy Knight

Dorothy May Penrod Knight, 88, of Provo, Utah passed away peacefully in Lindon, Utah January 9, 2022.  Dorothy was born on August 7, 1933 in Provo, Utah. She is the daughter of Wilford Franklin Penrod and Flora Eudora Chipman.  Dorothy met the love of her life, Kenneth D. Knight,  while working for his parents in their strawberry fields. She married him on June 10, 1951. Later they were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on October 26, 2002.

They raised their children in Orem, Utah and were able to enjoy traveling to other countries and throughout the United States. They loved exploring new places and eventually retired in Torrey. They loved the simple life a small town brought and enjoyed camping with loved ones, hunting and fishing. While in Torrey Dorothy created lifelong friendships and loved working in her friend's green house where she grew a passion for plants.

Dorothy enjoyed spending her time reading and doing all kinds of puzzles. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed painting and drawing.

Dorothy was a soft spoken, generous and kind soul. Wherever she went she brought light and love to those around her. She was supportive of her children and grandchildren and they always felt her love for them. She loved music and listening to others play instruments for her. Dorothy also loved to play and win at Bingo and watch old movies.
During the last few years of her life, she resided in Spring Gardens Assisted Living, where she was able to create even more lasting friendships and touch other’s lives in so many ways.

Dorothy was blessed to have her granddaughter as her hospice nurse, who helped her pass peacefully,  which brought comfort to the family.

Survived by:  Children, Mindy Sue (Larry) Wright, Linda Lee (Mike) Clark, Daughter-In-Law Pam Knight, 12 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren. Siblings, Coe Nicol and Kay Finch. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dee Knight, her parents, Frank and Flora Penrod. Son, Dale Allen Knight, a grandson, Chad Kenneth Wright, and Siblings: Bob Penrod, Garth Penrod and Betty Nielsen.
At this time, due to Covid, the services will be held privately. When time permits, the family will hold a celebration of her life.
