Darlene Castleton Kindred of American Fork UT, passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms on July 7 th 2020. She was born July 14th 1940 In Springville Utah to Norma P. and G. Vernon Castleton. She was the 3 rd child of 9. She graduated from Springville high school in 1958. She married F. Boyd Kindred on April 22nd , 1960 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Salt Lake and Price for a bit before making their home in Fillmore, UT. They lived there for 25 years before moving to American Fork for Boyd’s work. They left many memories and friends in Fillmore. They have so far lived in American Fork for 28 years and have created another life and memories.
She faithfully endured many years of camping with her family. It was not her favorite pastime. But for the love of her husband she persevered. Darlene was a very talented woman, she was a seamstress and made her own wedding dress along with her daughter’s prom and wedding dresses, she was a painter, cake decorator which included several wedding cakes and cakes out of the bakery that she worked in. She also made quilts for all the grandbabies and great grandbabies and was saddened when she could no longer perform her talents. She was also a very talented homemaker. They grew a garden every year and canned all the vegetables.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and showed the love of the lord by holding several callings and was happy to serve working in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple in American Fork for 6 years. She was a very loving and caring lady and always concerned for others. Family was everything to Darlene, she deeply loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Her five children Ann (Lyle) Harrison of West Jordan UT, Judy (Kam) Frampton of American Fork, UT, Pat (Glen) Foster of Springville, UT. Jim (Sherry) Kindred of Missouri , and Craig Kindred of Sandy, UT. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 4 siblings Loree Westcott, Larry Castleton, Elaine McBroom, and Bert Castleton. Preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Lloyd and David, Sisters Joanne Howard and Julie Hempel. Also proceeding her is her son in law, Garth Johnson

Viewing for family and friends will be July 13 th , 2020 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Anderson and Son’s Mortuary located at 49 East 100 North, American Fork, UT. Viewing will be by appointment only due to COVID-19 restrictions. Viewing appointments can be made through the SignUp Genius link below. If you have any difficulty signing up please call us at 801-756-3564 and we can help you. Also, due to Covid-19 considerations the funeral will be for immediate family only and by invitation. Burial will be 1 pm at Evergreen Cemetery Springville UT. All are welcome but social distancing guidelines should be followed.
