Christopher Burton Price, age 40, passed away August 30, 2021 at his home in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
Christopher was born April 13, 1981 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul Burton Price and Christine Fern Weight Price. Utilizing his great ability for science and math along with his immense attention to detail, he received an engineering bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and pursued a career in engineering and design automation. He married the love of his life, Emily Ann Oakden on March 6, 2009 (3,6,9!) in the Mount Timpanogos Temple.
When his older sister, Alicia, was just beginning to talk, she tried to say Christopher’s name but had a hard time pronouncing the “s” and said, “Chritader.” The name stuck and he was called “Chrit” by many family and friends from that time forward.
Chrit loved family, especially spending time with his wife Emily and two children: Keith and Maelee. He loved to spend time building legos together, playing fun games, going on trips to St. George and Nevada, and making fun and silly videos.
Chrit loved to give and serve—from helping his poor, unfortunate souls (his brothers) figure out how to build shelves, to fixing and building improvements on various friends’ homes and sheds, to visiting with those who needed a listening ear.
When Chrit made up his mind to do something, he got it done. This resulted in him achieving the Eagle Scout rank at the age of 12 and becoming the valedictorian when he graduated at Utah Valley University.
He had many passions and interests. He loved construction projects, building numerous legos, memorizing every facet of Star Wars lore, taking landscape pictures, holding movie nights (both inside and outside), going to the Weight cabin, camping (“let’s get a fire going”), hiking, Emily’s Mexican food cooking, and his latest passion—3D printing.
Chrit had an infectious personality and often left many laughing hard with his numerous mannerisms and quick-witted comments. He had an impeccable memory and could recall the intricate details of the Marvel universe and had what seemed to be an endless database of movie quotes.
As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served a mission in the Carlsbad, California mission and afterwards served in the elder’s quorum, primary, young men program and as a ward clerk.
Survived by his beautiful wife, Emily, children Keith (“Keifers”) and Maelee (“Mae Mae”), mother Christine Fern Weight Price, siblings Michael (Tami), David (Tiffany), Alicia, Jenny (Dave), Jared, a special friend, Janette Kirkham and many “nerfherders”—his nieces and nephews and other children close to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Burton Price.
A short funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Church building located at 10962 North 6400 West, Highland. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery. Online condolences can be expressed on his tribute wall at www.andersonmortuary.com.
