Arba Thayn

October 18, 1933 — March 27, 2021

Arba Lee Thayn crossed the veil peacefully on March 27, 2021 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

Arba was born in Ferron, Utah on October 18, 1933 the fourth of six girls born to Nola and Oz Henrie. She was a farm girl through and through, helping to herd cattle, riding her horse bareback and weed the fields and all the other things that needed to be done on a farm.

She loved school and was involved in clubs and plays and choirs throughout school in Price,Utah.

She married Raymond Thayn (deceased) in 1951 and shortly after moved to American Fork, Ut. where she would live most of the rest of her life. Arba was a loving and devoted mother to Terry, Todd and Shari Thayn with seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She loved to cook and kept an immaculate home. She was a very devoted Grandma, hosting gatherings and sleepovers that her grandkids will always cherish.

Arba worked as a bank teller at the Bank of American Fork for over 29 years. Her sweet loving nature and quick intelligence made her a natural teacher and she trained new tellers for many
years at the bank. She took great and deserved pride in always balancing her window! Arba was a gifted artist. She loved to interior decorate, paint and craft. She had her own interior decorating business for many years and bare walls were not allowed! She loved music and dancing and sang in the church choir all her life. She loved reading and staying up with current events. She enjoyed travel and the beautiful world around her. She really enjoyed watching professional performers, especially ice skating!

She did crafts and tole painting for as long as she was able. While working at the bank she became known for decorating the teller line, changing the theme with each holiday and season using many of her hand-painted pieces. After retiring, this transitioned to decorating her home on North Center in American Fork each season both inside and out. Driving past the holiday house became a tradition for countless community residents and visitors.

A graveside memorial will be held at the American Fork Cemetery at 1pm on April 2nd, 2021.
