Alma Mangalindan Allison was born November 16, 1974 in Sasmuan, Pampanga, Philippines. She lived in the Philippines until she was 19 years old. At 19 she came to the United States with her sister, Armi to join their parents and other sister.
When she was 31 years old a friend of hers set her up with Jacob Allison. They hit it off and were married October 20th, 2006. They were later joined by their three children Hailey, Andrew, and Lianne.
She joined the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2008 and was sealed to her husband and children on November 20th, 2015 in the Mesa, Arizona temple.
Alma worked as a cashier for Walmart for 17 years and loved it. She loved talking with all the customers. She was friendly and made friends everywhere she went. She was very caring and loved to do things for her family and friends. For example, if she thought your shoes looked worn out, she would bring you a new pair of Nikes the next time she saw you. She loved to go out to eat at restaurants, especially for Asian food. She also liked to take others out to eat with her. She was notorious for taking people out to eat for their birthdays. When you went out to eat with her, she would never let you pay. She would say, “This is my thing so let me do it.”
She spoke four different languages, English, Tagalag, Capampangan, and Spanish. Since English wasn’t her first language she would mess up American sayings and say them all backwards which made a good laugh for everyone including her. If you told her that what she was saying didn’t make sense she would say, “Well, put some sense on it!”
She was little but a real spitfire and said exactly what she thought. She had a will of iron and was fiercely independent. She never wanted people feeling sorry for her and didn’t really want anyone to know she was sick.
She loved her family so much and fought her cancer so hard to be able to stay with her children and her husband. She was so proud of her husband and children and would brag about them all the time. She felt so blessed to have them.
Alma is survived by her husband, Jacob Allison, and her three children, Hailey Diane, Andrew James, and Lianne Amber. She is also survived by her parents Rueben Regala Mangalindan and Lolita Velasco Mangalindan. Her sisters Angela Mangalindan, Anna Marie Mangalindan (Nelson), Arlene Mangalindan, Alice Mangalindan Cuison (JoJo), and Armi Mangalindan.
