Zlatarjewa (Zaza) Clark age 80 of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Janosch and her mother, Katarina (Heinz) Janosch. Zaza is survived by her loving husband, Don Clark and children: Tim (Lora); Don Jr. (Vicki); Jackie (Blaine); 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Zaza was born in Kladno, Czech Republic. As an only child, she and her parents escaped (then) Czechoslovakia during the 2nd world war. They survived in refugee camps and finally fled to Brazil on one of the first ships to take full families. She was very bright, mastering five languages. When she was 19 years old, her parents gave her the opportunity to go to the United States. They knew only one Czech family she could stay with in Omaha, Nebraska. It was also there that she met the love of her life, Don Clark. They were inseparable, teaching dancing at Arthur Murray School of Dance and dreaming of their future together. Soon they welcomed children into their family and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brazil. She and her husband served in many volunteer callings in several countries. They traveled and lived overseas for many years, as Don eventually began work with the LDS church. Together they served three missions when their children were grown. She was an excellent European cook and fed hundreds of missionaries over the years!
They continued to dance their way through life, spontaneously dancing in restaurants and on many trips! They never passed up an opportunity to dance together, laugh and enjoy their family and friends. She loved the beach and visited many over her lifetime. She loved to smile, was an amazing listener and a natural matchmaker! She had a way of connecting together the people she loved. She saw the beauty in the world and everyone she met. She saw people “The way Heavenly Father sees them.” She taught her family through her example of compassion. It was her life’s work to serve others. We imagine her sitting in the sun, looking forward to dancing again with her sweet husband. She will be greatly missed.
There will be a visitation on Friday, May 21 in Georgia at Tom M. Wages Funeral Service in Snellville. There will also be a funeral service in Highland, Utah, on Thursday, May 27 at 2 p.m. (11000 N 6400 W Highland, UT).
