Verity Decker

Verity Ann Decker was incredibly loved and eagerly awaited from the day her parents, Hyrum David Decker and Heather Russon Decker, learned she was coming. Her parents talked about her every day.

She was mom's little buddy for six wonderful months. Her parents loved to feel and see her kicking and wiggling. On one treasured evening, while her parents were hugging, Verity gave a very long slow stretch which was felt by both mom and dad. Her parents laughed and smiled about their little girl and couldn't wait to meet her.

On June 17th , 2025, at a regular pregnancy appointment Heather's midwife could not find a heartbeat. Although everything looked like it was progressing perfectly, something happened to make Verity's little heart stop. Heather was induced and delivered Verity on June 19th, 2025 at 3:13 AM. Verity was perfect. She was 2lbs 14oz and 16in long. She had the most beautiful face her parents had ever seen, with feather-soft cheeks and a little dimpled chin. Her hands and feet were flawless and so delicate.

This little family spent 15 wonderful hours together. Her parents sang her songs, told her the story of how they met and talked about Verity being a world traveler having gone to the Czech Republic with them only a month prior. Verity's parents had talked about taking her on walks together for months. Plans had to change drastically. Instead of around neighborhood streets the walk was around the hospital room. Her parents stopped at the window to teach Verity about the mountains, sky, sun, grass, and clouds. Her parents will always treasure their day with their sweet baby girl.

Verity is survived by her father and mother, Hyrum and Heather Decker. As well as loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Hyrum and Heather will be holding a graveside funeral for Verity Ann Decker on Friday Jun 27th at 1:00 PM at the Lehi cemetery. A viewing will be held at Anderson & Sons Mortuary from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM. A luncheon will follow the service.
