Theron Fox

December 27, 1928 — May 16, 2024

Theron Stevenson Fox passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024, at his home in Lehi, Utah at the age of 95. Born on December 27, 1928, to Charles Gibbs Fox and Louise Stevenson Fox, Theron grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a boy, he loved working with his dairy cows and spending time with his beloved horse, Buckey Buckins.

Theron enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his family. As a young father, he embarked on a life change, relocating to San Diego, California. There, he built a successful 40-year career with Sears Roebuck and Company, working in various capacities. In his later years with the company, he became a certified Hearing Aid Specialist. After retiring from Sears, Theron opened Fox Hearing Center in Escondido, California. Theron's compassion and caring nature made him a trusted professional and friend to those he helped daily.

A self-taught man, he could build or repair anything and welcomed a challenge! Theron was always willing to lend a helping hand, day or night. He loved his life in Escondido, on his orange and avocado ranch. He planted large gardens and generously shared his fruits and vegetables with many, even donating hundreds of pounds of oranges to the community food bank annually.

Theron was a genuine man, who gave freely of his love, skills, and talents to his family and countless others. He was patient and enjoyed having people work alongside him, using those times to impart valuable life lessons. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Theron spent most of his life serving others and the Lord in many church capacities. He served as a teacher, ministering brother, High Councilor, and Bishop. His love for the Lord and those he served was evident in all he did.

Theron's warmth and kindness had a way of making a friend of anyone who crossed his path. He truly loved life and people. The legacy he has left to his large family and many friends is one of kindness, care for others, hard work, and a firm testimony of Jesus Christ.

Theron is survived by his wife, Eunice Fox, and children: Michael Fox (Donna Brozowski), Steven Fox (Debi), Kevin Fox (Michelle), Sherilyn Hymas (Lyle), Kimberlie Urry (Mark), and Melinda Allen. He was preceded in death by his son Gary Fox (Kathy). Theron is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful aides and compassionate staff of A Plus Hospice for their exceptional care and support during Theron's final months, specifically his nurse Desiree, and his aides Sheila, April and Celia. Special thanks to Lolo Fatani whose tender care brought Dad smiles until the end.
