Tamara Patterson

April 6, 1970 — December 11, 2023

Tamara (Tami) Lynn Dell'Ergo Patterson (1970-2023)

Beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all, Tamara (Tami) Lynn Dell'Ergo Patterson, 53, of American Fork, Utah, died peacefully at home on December 11, 2023, after a seven-month battle with a brutal cancer.

Born on April 6, 1970, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to Thomas Verne Dell'Ergo and Marita Lynn Meek, Tami is the only daughter squeezed between her three brothers. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and Carson City, Nevada, until she moved to BYU in Utah to study nursing.

After hearing about each other from their respective parents, Tami and Chris officially met in the Young Single Adult Sunday School class in April of 1989, went on a date that night and managed to squeeze in two more dates that week before Chris left for Army basic training. They mailed each other letters almost daily while apart, growing their love with each letter. Tami married Chris LeRoy Patterson for time and all eternity on November 21, 1989, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.

Tami became a paralegal to support Chris in finishing his schooling and later focused exclusively on being the ultimate wife and mom to their five children: making delicious dinners, volunteering in classrooms, and being present in their kids' lives. She was strong and resilient through both of Chris's year-long overseas military deployments, ensuring the kids felt loved and supported.

Tami (Grammy Tami) is a grandma to six, soon to be seven, grand-babies, whom she loves with her whole heart. She brought the family together for amazing Christmas break vacations, planned fun pool parties, whipped cream fights, and could often be found playing "bounce the babies" on the tramp or sleeping in the backyard tent with all her grandchildren. They love her and will miss her dearly.

In her mid-40's, Tami went back to school to complete her nursing education and became a registered nurse working in the Neuro ICU at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, and finished her Bachelor of Science, Nursing (BSN) degree with honors. Her passion for nursing stemmed from her innate desire to care for others and she loved her work, her co-workers, and her patients.

Tami is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in the Young Women and Relief Society organizations, as well as quality time in the temple, devoting her time and energy to loving and serving those around her. Tami truly loved all those she met and made friends everywhere she went. She will be missed immensely by her congregation and friends.

Tami Patterson will always be remembered for her unconditional love and kindness as she lived a full and busy life to include working out at the A.F. Rec. Center, as well as skiing, cycling, and hiking in beautiful nature. She always expressed love to those around her and gave her time to those in need. We couldn't have asked for a better wife and mom and we will miss Tami every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.

Tami was preceded in death by her mom, Marita (Rita) Dell'Ergo; grandparents, Ilene and Vincent Dell'Ergo and Rosalie and Everett Meek; and dear cousin, Sean Aiken. She is survived by her husband, Chris; her father, Thomas [Elsa]; five children, Taylor [Ryker], Shelby [Matthew], Levi [Ashley], Bradley, and Justice; six, almost seven grandchildren; and her beloved brothers, Matthew [Katie], Mark [Jill], and Jared.

Special thanks and love to all the family and friends who have supported Tami and family during her valiant fight with cancer and for the kind and caring medical providers and especially Tami's work family at the Neuro ICU at Intermountain Medical Center and Chris's Young Living work family. You have touched our hearts in so many ways and allowed us to see the hand of God at work through you.

Tami's funeral service will be held in the American Fork 10th Ward Building located at 507 West 700 North, American Fork, Utah, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2023, with a viewing before from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM at the same location. Tami's body will be interred in the Alpine, Utah City Cemetery at the conclusion of the funeral service.
