Stewart Adamson

November 15, 1922 — May 19, 2015

Stewart "Stew" Hutchinson Adamson, 92, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in American Fork, Utah. He was born November 15, 1922 in American Fork, Utah to Walter Thomas and Isabell (Hutchinson) Adamson. He resided in American Fork throughout his life. After graduation form American Fork High School, Stew entered the U.S Army and served in the military police.
After serving in the Army, He met and married Elsa Maxine Nelson on December 12, 1947 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on February 24, 1960, along with being sealed to his children. He taught his children to be hard-workers and responsible.
Stew worked for Western General Dairy and the L.D.S. Church in supervisory capacities. He also worked for the Alpine School District as a bus driver for seventeen years, which he said was the best job he ever had. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various church positions. He loved being with his family and family activities. Dad enjoyed the outdoors and the fishing trips he went on with friends. He and mom looked forward to watching ballgames together.
Stewart is survived by his wife Maxine, four children, Stewart Lynn Adamson, Shayne (Reed) Buckner, Scott "N" Adamson and Shelley Jensen. He has seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; LaDell & James, sisters; Ora Boren & Elayne Ohran.
The family would like to thank the staff at Utah Valley Regional Hospital, Bel Aire Senior Living and Brighton Hospice.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the American Fork 8th Ward Chapel, 320 North 100 East, American Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, May 26th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Utah and prior to services Wednesday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
