Steven Aaron Hall 1977 ~ 2024
Steven Aaron Hall, age 47, of Provo, passed away on October 16, 2024 from liver failure due to years of battling severe illness. He inspired many. Steve was born on August 26, 1977, to Scott and Linda Hall. He attended Schutz American School in Egypt, the American School In Switzerland (TASIS) and graduated from the Red Mountain High School in Mesa, Arizona.
After serving a full-time LDS mission to Halifax, Canada (1996-98), Steve went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Utah Valley State College. He later received his master’s from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He married Aimee Harper on April 30, 1999, and they have two wonderful children, Steven and Susie. Steve worked as a humanities Professor and was an expert in creative writing and American pop music culture. He loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and writing and reading creative works. He is likely the world’s leading Michael Jackson expert, and most definitely his greatest fan :). He will be immensely missed by the people whose lives he influenced and his loved ones.
Steve was a fiercely loyal friend, despite the pain and fear of abandonment caused by his illness. As he suffered with serious mental health challenges most of his life, Steve was present and engaged with the people he was with – his family and friends, his students, and at times strangers who needed a listening ear. He tenaciously worked to overcome his illness and to cope with the impact it had on his life.
Steve is survived by the mother of his children, Aimee Harper; his children, Steven Jr. and Susan; his parents, Scott Hall and Linda Aul, and stepmother, Diane Hall (Webb); his siblings Sandy (Randy) Stoker of Gilbert, AZ; Star (Stefanie) Hall of Lindon; Scott (Alethea) Hall of Bountiful; Slade Hall of Salt Lake City; Stephanie (David) Adams of Snowflake, AZ; and Susie (Russ) Hannig of American Fork; stepsisters Michelle (Dirk) Lee of Lakeside, AZ; Danielle (Jay) Simper of Alhambra, CA; ShaLynne (Jim) Jackson of Gilbert, AZ; twenty four nieces and nephews; thirty one great nieces and nephews.
