Steven Edward Cameron passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2025, at his home in American Fork, Utah. He was born on June 8, 1963, in San Pedro, California, which he proudly represented. He built a life full of adventure, laughter, and love.
Steve was the devoted husband of Susan Isom Cameron. Together, they shared 29 years filled with love, partnership, and laughter. He was the proud father of Cody Isom Cameron and Kailey Cameron Boyle, and a loving stepfather to Heather McPeak, Timothy McPeak Jr., and Alyssa Cruz, whom he cherished just like his own. He was the adoring grandfather to Ryder and Crew, and also to his additional grandchildren-Jake, Levi, Holland, Navy, Anderson, Aaron, and Adelyn-each of them his pride and joy.
Anyone who knew Steve knew he was the funniest guy in the room-with the brightest smile, a contagious laugh, and the best stories you've ever heard. He was an incredible storyteller, able to turn even the smallest moment into something unforgettable. His creative mind and quick wit made him the kind of person you just wanted to be around. He was a friend to all, making everyone feel welcome, important, and loved.
He loved working with his hands and had a gift for building, fixing, and inventing. From cars to his homemade gadgets and his famous potato launcher to the many "accoutrements" he kept handy, Steve always had a project in the works.
A true adventurer at heart, Steve's favorite place was the beach, where he had grown up surfing and skateboarding. He found joy in simple things-riding his motorcycle (especially popping wheelies), flying massive kites, camping, fishing, setting off fireworks, and being outdoors. But above all, his happiest moments were spent surrounded by family. He was a proud father and grandfather who never missed a chance to show his love and support.
Steve had a strong work ethic and a big heart. Whether as a heavy machine operator, truck driver, or longshoreman, he gave his all to whatever he did. He graduated from San Pedro High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and love throughout his life. If you needed help, he was there-no matter the time or place. He never gave up and he always made sure everyone else was taken care of before himself. That was just who he was.
Steve's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
He is also survived by his brother William Charles Cameron Jr. "Chuck" and sister Pamela Ann Cameron
He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved parents, Dorothy Joan Cavenah and William Charles Cameron.
