Sharlene Kaye Guth

Sharlene Kaye Johnson-Guth, 77, passed away peacefully on July 11th at her home in Yuma, Arizona, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease.  A graveside celebration of her life will be held in American Fork, Utah on July 22nd with her loving family in attendance.

Mrs. Guth was born on the 4th of December, 1941 in Rupert, Idaho to Merlin and Effie Johnson.  She graduated from Minico High School, class of 1960, in Rupert, Idaho.  She earned several college credits through correspondence courses.

She married Norman Howard Guth on in Richfield, Idaho.  Together they raised 2 sons and 2 daughters in Salmon, Idaho where they all graduated from Salmon High School.  She was heavily involved in: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, Salmon Arts Council, and countless years for the family Outfitter and Guide business.  She also managed Salmon Meadows Campground for Jack Simplot for 10 years. They resided in Salmon until 1995.  A new chapter began in Yuma, Arizona with summers spent helping operate the family business in Lake Illiamna, Alaska.

In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, music and reading.  Her family paid this tribute to her, “Kaye was one of the most kind and sincere person you could ever meet, she opened her heart and her home to anyone who needed her and she will be sorely missed.”

She is survived by her loving husband, 2 sons Marty and Merlin, 2 daughters Mira and Melonee,  22 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the American Fork Cemetery, 26 West 600 North, American Fork at 10 am on Monday, July 22, 2019
