Sandra Jean Porter Gines was born September 25, 1950 in Mesa Arizona to William Stanley Porter and Anna Jean Gibson Porter to the delight of both parents and grandparents. She passed away in the early morning hours of January 25, 2022. She was born kind and remained kind through all of her 71 years. She delighted in her kids and grandkids and devoted tremendous time and energy into making sure they felt loved and that their real needs were met and many of their wants as well. She avoided the lime-light and preferred quiet time with a good book and close family gatherings. Famous for her no bake cookies, orange jello and rice krispy treats and her delight in feeding the family. She rarely declined a baby-sitting request when needed and as a result she was able to connect with her grandchildren and influence them to believe in themselves and accomplish their goals.
Her advice to the family was to believe in yourself, like yourself and share your special gifts. She has assured the family that even though she is not with us in the body that she is still watching out for all of us.
A favorite quote that is on display in her front room is "Grandparents hold our hands for a while but hold our hearts forever." That is the quote that she has chosen for her head stone.
She expresses her heartfelt thanks to family, extended family in Arizona and dear friends who
have loved and supported her through this journey.
She is survived by her husband Duane Gines, five children and ten grandchildren.
For those who have lost loved ones: from the classic "Imitation of Christ"
(She substituted for He)
She that loveth, flyeth, runneth and rejoiceth;
She is free and cannot be held in.
She giveth all for all and hath all in all, because she resteth in One highest above all things,
From whom all that is good flows and proceeds.
