Roger Taylor

Roger Taylor, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday Dec. 5th, 2025. He was surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, service, and compassion. Roger was born in his family’s home in Springville on November 17, 1935. He attended American Fork High School and later Brigham Young University. Roger retired from Mountain Fuel Supply Company after working there for 32 years. He also proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, launching jets off the flight deck of the USS Oriskany. Roger married Mickie Bean in 1957 Together they had three beautiful girls Jan, Sharlyn, and MarNae. They were later divorced. A few years later he met the love of his life Dixie Thomas on a blind date. They were married on April 2nd 1970. Dixie had two sons Rodney Richardson and Mark Logan and a daughter Karen Greaves. Together, they built a blended family overflowing with love. Over the years, that family grew to include 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren—each one adored.

Roger enjoyed restoring classic cars and he was especially proud of his award winning 1956 Chrysler and his candy apple red 1941 Chevy coupe hot rod “MYBABEE.” He took his Chevy on several trips including historical Route 66. He had a CB radio business and placed foreign exchange students into loving homes throughout Utah. He also loved hunting, fishing and camping with his brothers and family where he made some amazing dutch oven meals.

Roger Taylor leaves behind a lifetime of stories, accomplishments, and cherished moments. He was always the first to reach out to those in need and extend a warm welcome to anyone who crossed his path. He also welcomed into his family Jan, Sharlyn and MarNae’s half sisters, Megan and Aimee, to his fold as additional daughters. But above all, he leaves behind the love he poured into his family and community. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dixie, son Mark, his brothers Robert, Keith(Bud), Jack, sister Phyllis and his parents Cliff and Thelma. Roger is survived by his brother Douglas E Taylor the last of the bunch, his Son Rod(Susan) Richardson, his daughters Jan(Rob) Read, Shar(Ray) Morton, MarNae Taylor, and Karen(Joel) Webb.

We would like to thank Spring Gardens Care Center and all of their staff for providing such loving and compassionate care over the last six years. Also Serenity Hospice for Providing such tender care for Roger during the last months of his life.

There will be a viewing on Friday Dec.12th from 6:00-7:30 pm and Saturday Dec. 13th from 9:45-10:45 am with a funeral to follow at 11:00 am. These will take place at Anderson and Sons Mortuary located at 49 E. 100 N. American Fork Utah. There will be a live stream of the funeral you can connect to the link below.  Roger would love it if anyone with a classic car could join us for the procession to the AF cemetery.
