Jack Nielson

Roger Jack Nielson, 81, passed away on January 28, 2023 at home in Lehi, UT. 

Jack was born April 21, 1941 in Murray, Utah to Roger and Ruth Nielson. 

He is survived by his wife of just over 49 years, Pamela Wells.

Jack leaves behind a total of nine children, including Lynn Johnson (Steve), David Nielson (Magda), Gina Hall (Vic), and Jarad Nielson (Cyndi) from his first marriage to Annetta Dixon. Kellie Gurney (Tony), Jerry Cook (Lisa), and Ryan Cook (Tammy), whom he loved as his own, and Damon Nielson (Michelle), and Tori Wilson (Rich) from his marriage to Pam. In total, Jack leaves behind 25 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters: Carolyn Reid (Paul), Reid Nielson (Helen), and Margo Erickson (Rod). He is preceded by his parents, his younger brother Kirt, brother-in-law, Paul Reid, and two sons-in-law, Cody Jones and Steve Johnson. 

He was the owner and manager of Fakler Tires in American Fork, UT for 29 years, from 1971 through 2011. 

Jack was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as civic clubs such as the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Ambulance, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, and Elks Club. In addition, he founded the Lone Peak Four-Wheel Drive Club. He always had a knack for being a leader; he organized things and people well. Jack loved the outdoors and enjoyed outdoor recreational activities with his family, whether it was skiing, snowmobiling, jeeping, riding motorcycles, boating, or other activities, he was most at home when engaged in an outdoor activity with family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
