Robert Parrish

December 28, 1938 — May 23, 2025

With heavy hearts and joyous memories, we announce the passing of Robert Reed Parrish, who left this world peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 28, 1938 to Julian Reed Parrish and Bernice Ruth Bergeman Parrish in Salt Lake City, UT. Robert lived a life filled with love, laughter, and service.

Robert graduated from East High School in 1957 before embarking on a mission in the Great Lakes Area from January 1959 to January 1961. On his mission he encountered many wonderful people and had cherished spiritual experiences that he spoke about all of his life. His career began at Hercules Corp, where he dedicated 13 years before taking a bold step into entrepreneurship, owning and managing a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in California for eight years. It was in these kitchens that his passion for cooking truly shined.

A devoted family man, Robert cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, Elizabeth, and their children. He had an innate ability to create warmth and laughter in every gathering, whether it was at family dinners or movie nights filled with his favorite Westerns and cartoons.

Throughout his life, Robert embraced numerous callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he made significant contributions to missionary work as a Ward Missionary Leader, Stake Missionary, and Gospel Doctrine Teacher. His easy-going nature and witty spirit drew people in, making everyone he met feel welcome and loved. Other callings he enjoyed were being an ordinance worker at the MT Timpanogos Temple and role playing with the missionaries at the MTC as part of their training.

A natural problem-solver, Robert never lost his temper; his calm demeanor and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on those lucky enough to know him.

Robert is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his children: Robert Reed Parrish, Jennifer Elizabeth Parrish (Philip) Smith. John Julian Parrish and Andrew Hill Parrish, his grandchildren: Christopher Reed Parrish, LeRoy Robert Smith, Tyler Joseph Smith, Lauren Smith (Nanu) Sandhu, Lonnie Smith, Allison Parrish and Brodey Parrish, his sisters Joan Combe and Dianne Cashman. He was preceded in death by his parents Julian and Bernice, his brother John Parrish and a daughter-in-law Skeeter.
