Robert Dean Brown passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.
Robert, known to everyone as "Bob," was born on October 27, 1943, in Sacramento, California. He lived much of his life in Utah, Texas, and Arkansas. He will be remembered for his warm personality, quick wit, and the countless stories he shared with family and friends. He had a gift for bringing people together through laughter and conversation, and there was never a gathering that wasn't made better by one of his stories.
Bob enjoyed life's simple pleasures and adventures. He loved horse racing and even owned his own racehorse. He also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with family. Whether sharing memories from years gone by or recounting one of his many adventures, he had a way of making every story memorable.
A hardworking man throughout his life, Bob spent more than 30 years as a professional truck driver. He took pride in his work and the many miles he traveled. He also served as an independent contractor supporting military operations in Iraq and later drove school buses, helping safely transport children in his Arkansas community.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army, joining at age 17. He served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and earned both the Parachutist Badge and the Sharpshooter Badge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Volk Brown, who passed away on October 21, 2011.
Bob leaves behind a family who loved him, including his four children: Lesa (Jeff) Folwell, Lonie (Alan) Lyon, Rob (Rainna) Brown, and Jenni (Lee) Brown; as well as his sister, Vanessa Fitch. His posterity also includes 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will gather privately to celebrate Bob's life and the memories they shared with him.
Though he will be deeply missed, his stories, laughter, and love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
