Robert Lee Brewer

July 19, 1936 - December 2, 2025

Robert Lee Brewer was born in Terrell, Texas, and lived a long life shaped by hard work, independence, and a clear sense of right and wrong. He had a strong personality - stubborn at times, but always fair. He valued honesty and integrity, and he tried to do right by others in the ways he knew how. He met each challenge head-on, doing his level best.

Throughout his life, Robert found joy in the things he could master with focus and skill. He was an excellent bowler and spent many years in leagues, taking pride in his game and the friendships that came with it. He loved sailing - on the East Coast, later in Utah, and again when he returned to Texas. He also enjoyed golfing with neighbors and friends, more for the time together than the score.

Robert was an extraordinarily talented craftsman, skilled in working with wood and leather. His attention to detail, his understanding of materials, and the precision in his designs made him an artisan in every sense of the word.

He also had a deep tenderness for animals, especially the greyhounds he rescued from racing in Texas. The running family joke was that his dogs were his favorite children, and he never disputed it. Chocolate was also a great love of his - whether making a chocolate shake at 2 a.m. or enjoying chocolate cake for breakfast, he delighted in it day or night.

As a father, Robert taught his children to be strong, independent, and to think for themselves. Those lessons became the lasting gifts he passed on.

To honor his life and the memories we hold dear, a public viewing will be held on December 8, 2025, at Anderson and Sons American Fork, starting at 11:45 AM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location, where we will come together to celebrate Robert's remarkable life and the love he shared with us all. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest at 600 North Center Street, American Fork, UT 84003. This final disposition will serve as a heartfelt farewell to a man who brought so much joy and compassion into the lives of others.

Robert is survived by his children: Kathryn (Ricky) Johnson, Robert S. Brewer and Katie, Nancy Peterson, Kristin (Eric) Hirst, Michael (Katherine) Brewer, Jennifer (Adam) Dajany, and Mauri (James) Crandell; along with 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Margaret Brewer, and his parents, Henry and Elizabeth Brewer.
