It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Rilla Lee Morgan, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, who left us on December 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 8, 1940, to Leland and Maxine Payne in Wilmar, California. Rilla spent her life lovingly caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home in Brea, California, and Alpine, Utah
Rilla was a daycare owner, wedding planner, and her last job was as an assistant to a podiatrist, which afforded her the opportunity to work away from the home, which she enjoyed very much. Ultimately, she was a true homemaker at heart, dedicating herself to her household and nurturing the bonds of family. Her kindness, generosity, and welcoming nature left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted partner to her husband, Ronald Morgan, with whom she shared countless cherished moments throughout their life together.
Rilla is survived by her husband, Ronald; her children: Ronda (Gabe) Gutierrez, Robin (Steve) Timmerman, Roy (Doreen) Morgan, and Rachel Morgan; her brother, Marvin (Laurie) Payne; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland & Maxine, and two brothers, Darrel and Richard and her sister, Anne Canfield Morgan.
We invite all those whose lives Rilla touched to join us in celebrating her life. A public viewing will be held on January 9, 2026, from 9:45 to 10:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Latter-day Saint Chapel, 1152 N 400 W, American Fork, where we will gather to honor her memory and share stories that reflect her loving spirit. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery following the services.
In this time of remembrance, let us come together to celebrate Rilla's remarkable life, her unwavering love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
