Richard Allen Mott

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Allen Mott announces his passing on July 28, 2026, at the age of 76. Richard was born to loving parents, John Mott and Evelyn Gast, on April 1, 1950, and grew up on their cherished dairy farm.

A proud Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force, Richard dedicated his life to serving his country and community. He married his sweetheart, Susan, in 1972, and together they raised four wonderful children, cherishing moments that would grow to include twelve beloved grandchildren. Richard imparted valuable lessons on the importance of hard work, dedication, and the sheer joy of family.

Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Richard was a master of dad jokes and a playful prankster. Among his favorite indulgences were Hershey's chocolate and peanut butter M&Ms. A lifelong learner, Richard had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, often sharing his insights with friends and family. He was known as a favorite professor, and his passion for teaching and the gospel was evident in all that he did. His love for the scriptures and commitment to his faith, which blossomed during his military service, profoundly shaped his life and the lives of those around him.

Richard will forever be remembered for his love of animals and his favorite stories, particularly that of Briar Rabbit. As the youngest of four children, he brought joy and laughter to his family throughout his life.

Richard's family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate his life. The family invites all who knew and loved Richard to participate in this tribute to his extraordinary life. Services will be held at the Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel in Highland Utah on Wednesday August 05,2026 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 AM prior to the service.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan and his beloved children and grandchildren, a brother and sister as well, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
