Richard Fullmer

September 24, 1936 — January 9, 2026

Richard Kay Fullmer, a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away at home on January 9, 2026, at the age of 89 in Highland, UT.

Richard (Dick) was born on September 24, 1936 to John S. and Ethel (Ketchum) Fullmer. He was the third of four boys and was raised in Springville, UT, where he enjoyed sports and hunting and fishing in the great outdoors. Even in his 70's he could be found hunting and fishing with his son, brother, nephews and great- nephews. They shared great times together, which he cherished.

In 1959 he married his sweetheart Sue Ann in Springville, UT. One year later he moved his wife and young daughter to So. California where they raised their two daughters and a son. When he retired, they came home to Utah and settled in Highland, UT. Richard loved his family very much and told them so all the time.

Richard was a member of the Local 12 Operating Engineers in California for 39 years. He was the lead Grading Foreman. He had a sharp mind and was very accomplished at what he did. The family loved to gather and listen to him recount the many experiences he had during his career.

Richard lived a long and full life. Although we will miss him and his great stories, his life adventures will live on in all of us and we know we will see him again. We know he is happy now after being reunited with his wife, son and many beloved family members.

Richard is survived by his daughter's Jenny (Jim) Sorenson and Teresa; his 3 granddaughters and 6 great-grandchildren; as well as his brother James and Marvin (Judy) Fullmer.

He is proceeded in death by his loving wife Sue Ann (Hansen); his son Kevin; his parents John and Ethel; his brother Jack and Jack's wife Marilyn; and his sister-in-law Peggy Fullmer.

A viewing will be held at Anderson & Son's Mortuary in Highland, UT (6141 W. 1100 N., Highland, UT 84003) on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. A gravesite dedication will immediately follow at the American Fork Cemetery.
