PEARL ELIZABETH SWEET BEHUNIN
Passed away peacefully December 18, 2021, of natural causes.  Born August 3, 1935, in Wilder, Idaho to George Russell Sweet and Elsie Beatrice Search. Pearl was the fourth of eight  children. She is survived by her husband LaRell Allen Behunin and one child, Ryan Behunin (Tracy Behunin) two younger sisters Cheryl Ward of Meridian, Idaho and Bette Largent of Spokane, Washington; Sister-in-law, Lida Rae Sweet, Brothers-in-law, Louis Frank Sennick III and Donald Largent. She leaves nine grandsons, and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Elsie; older brother George Russell Sweet Jr, his wife Corrina Phae Clements; older brother Jack Martin Sweet, his wife Wanita Lucille Bartlett; older sister Virginia Eyvonne Halverson, her husband Edgar LeRoy Halverson; younger sister Donna Lee Sennick and younger brother Monte Clifford Sweet.

Pearl was best known for her pies and peanut brittle, just to name a few. She served in many Stake and Ward capacities for her Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When she wasn’t decorating, reading, or baking she was providing service to someone in her Ward or Stake. She also served in the Bountiful Temple for many years. She was adored by all her nieces and nephews. She made them feel at home, always welcomed, and accepted. Pearl had a keen dry whit and wonderful sense of humor.  She could always laugh at herself as well as surprise the party with one liners and unexpected comebacks.  Her marriage to LaRell Behunin started an adventure that took them from Dugway, Utah, Boise, Idaho then to Billings, MT. After spending a year in Billings, they moved to Sheridan, Wyo., where she and her sister Bette created many unique décor products for the local Thurgood’s. They were ahead of their time.  She loved color and would always decorate her homes with the most vibrant colors, amazing pieces, antique furniture, bottles and more. She had an amazing nose for antique stores too. While traveling with LaRell and while reading she could point to an antique store with out looking up. LaRell would have to stop to give her the opportunity to explore. She collected hundreds of antique plates and bottles. After leaving Sheridan, her family settled in Centerville, UT. There she served her Church and community and developed many life-long friendships. She and LaRell made their final move to North Salt Lake, where after working for a local health and supplement store, Vitality, she retired.

Pearl brought laughter, hope, optimism, and a vision to think big. She always felt that we think too small.  She had a bright hope for the life to come. She looked forward to reuniting with family and friends on the other side and knew in her heart, that what lies beyond the veil was impossible to comprehend. Her legendary pies, peanut brittle, banana breads will be greatly missed as well as her wonderful sense of humor and brightness, but we know she will continue blessing the lives of many in her new home. We look forward to our reuniting and our eternal family. Thank you, Pearl, for your wonderful life.
