Celebration of Life for Parker John Tinsley
We honor the life of Parker John Tinsley, beloved son of Lucretia and John Tinsley, who passed away on September 22, 2024, in American Fork, Utah. Born October 29, 2002, in American Fork, Utah, Parker’s vibrant spirit and warm heart touched the lives of all those who knew him.
Parker loved sports and excelled at football, baseball, hockey, surfing, golf, dirt biking and hiking. He was spontaneous and always up for an adventure, moving from Utah County to a tiny village outside of Oahu, Hawaii, after graduating from Orem High School. While there he went skydiving, hiked volcanoes, and taught himself to surf. A natural athlete with a gift for learning new things, if Parker didn’t know how to do something he would figure it out himself. He loved spending time at the beach and surfing and cherished the friendships he made in Hawaii.
After living in Hawaii, Parker returned to Utah to work and attend college. He enrolled at Brigham Young University Idaho-Pathways, where he planned to focus on business administration. He aspired to be an entrepreneur and own his own business one day like his father.
Parker’s jokes and hilarious nature were infectious. He was the class clown at school and the family comedian. He loved practical jokes and making people laugh. Above all, he had a gift for making everyone feel valued and important. He made you feel like you were the only person in the room with his genuine love and concern for every person he met.
He was incredibly close to his family and loved to support his sister and three brothers in any way they needed. His favorite thing in the world was to be with his family. He loved making memories together on family trips and then talking about them when we were all together. He loved family Sunday dinners and get-togethers.
Parker is survived by his parents, Lucretia and John Tinsley, his siblings, Bridger (Nicolle), Tanner, Cooper and Adeline, and his nephew, Troy. A public viewing to celebrate Parker’s life will take place on October3, 2024, at the Manila Stake Center, 850 N. 900 East, American Fork, Utah, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.Following this, a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the same location, where we will come together to honor and cherish the beautiful memories Parker has left us with.
Each time he would say goodbye, Parker would always be sure to leave with a hug. At every parting,Parker would make sure to say, “I love you” – he wanted you to know it without question. We will cherish his example of love and service and will try to honor his legacy by loving others as he did.
We take comfort in the fact that we know that Christ overcame death, and because Christ lives, we know that Parker lives, even now. We love you, sweet boy, and look forward to the day we will be with you again.
