On Wednesday August 13th, Pam Bernice Hallmark Wagner completed her mortal journey and passed peacefully from this life.
Pam was born December 4, 1941 to David and June Smith Hallmark in Walla Walla, Washington. Her life and time in Walla Walla was precious - she reflected fondly on times with family, summers spent picking peas and beans and various crops on the production farms around Walla Walla and of course, the beginning of her lifelong love of art.
While still in high school, Pam met a boy who came to Walla Walla to attend Whitman College. Pam dated Bob the rest of high school and maintained that relationship when Bob enlisted in the Army and while he was stationed in Germany. Finally, after four years, Bob and Pam were married in June of 1962 and they spent 60 fabulous years together.
After Bob, Pam's second love was always art and the Lord blessed her with an incredible talent for it. Pam's office/art room always had a canvas hanging on the easel in one phase of creation or another. The smell of oil paints and turpentine were a constant in the Wagner home. Pam's paintings have been a constant conversation and source of joy for many.
The only thing that rivaled Pam's love of art was her passion for family history. She constantly pursued hints and insights that would help her find ancestors. There weren't enough days in the week or hours in the day when she was on the hunt! Because of countless trips, visits to old cemeteries, classes and endless days in the family history library, Pam leaves her family a legacy well-paved with an understanding of their roots, their stories. Beyond that, she has blessed the lives of countless loved ones who passed before her.
Pam's life was one of deep devotion to God and family. She stayed home to raise her four children and still managed the books for Bob's dental practice while serving in an endless string of church assignments. After Bob retired from his practice, Pam and Bob served a church mission together in the Independence, Missouri employment center.
Pam was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert; her granddaughter Elizabeth, her sister Jill and her parents. She is survived by four children, 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
