N. Craig Kennington

April 11, 1929 — July 29, 2023

N. Craig Kennington, 94, of American Fork, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family July 29, 2023. Born April 11, 1929, in Afton, Wyoming, the son of George Seward Kennington and Martha Emma Weber Kennington. He married Helen McMullin on November 23, 1956, in the St. George LDS Temple. Craig was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He earned his Doctorate of Educational Administration at Brigham Young University and spent his entire life in teaching and administrative roles. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Bishop of the American Fork 10th Ward and in many other Church callings. Craig and Helen served a full-time mission at Church headquarters in Salt Lake City and several church service missions. Craig loved his country, the Lord, the gospel, and especially his family. He led an active lifestyle; he was an avid golfer and was pleased with his hole-in-one although never bragged about it; and loved all sports.

Craig is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Teresa, Robert (Mary), Alyce, Lori Johansson, Jill (David) Newby, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Ronald, and 12 siblings: Winston, Bernice, Clarissa, Garth, Gwen, Gordon, Beverly, Forrest, Audine, Eugene, Ruth, and Martha. Services will be held August 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, with a viewing from 12:45 to 1:45 pm at the Mortuary. Burial in the American Fork City Cemetery.

The family expresses thanks to CNS Hospice team, especially to Jayce, Matt, Georgi, Patricia, Annabelle, Ron, and Ellie.
