Nadine Attaway

March 21, 1933 — January 28, 2022

Nadine Roberts Laycock Attaway passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022, in her home at River Meadows in Alpine, Utah. She lived a wonderful life filled with friendship, love, and service. She was 88 years old, born on March 21, 1933.

Nadine was the second of six children born to Jesse Max Roberts and Irene Duckett in Provo, Utah. Her siblings include Maxine (Stan), Calleen (George), J. Bert (Lois), Kent (Jilene), and Bliss (MaryAnn).  She was raised on a dairy farm in Springville, Utah, and she graduated from Provo High School. She has always been known for her outgoing personality, friendly smile, and warm hugs.

From her first marriage to Art J. Laycock on October 3, 1951, Nadine was blessed with two sons: Art James Laycock (Deborah Orr) and Larry Roberts Laycock (Lisa Gleave).

Nadine has always enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. She worked as a loyal and conscientious business manager for Givan Ford in Provo, Utah and later for Gene Harvey Chevrolet in American Fork, Utah. She loved reading the newspaper, watching Hallmark movies, gardening, and serving in the Temple.

After her divorce, Nadine married the love of her life, Andrew G. Attaway on August 12, 1992, and moved to Renton, Washington. Together, they loved to travel the world, create beautiful wood working crafts, serve in civic organizations, and visit their adopted seal, Herschel, at their home on Vashon Island. More than anything, they enjoyed just being together. Andy passed away on July 16, 2011.

In March of 2017, Nadine returned to Utah to live in the Alpine River Meadows Senior Living Center, and she thoroughly loved all the new friends she met there. Her unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ drew people to her, and she loved teaching and testifying of the divinity of Jesus Christ and His restored Church. Her two sons and their wives, her nine grandchildren and their spouses, and her fifteen great grandchildren will always remember her for her faithful devotion to God, family, and friends.

We will love you forever, Grandma Attaway. You lived a wonderful life!
