Michael Seipert

Michael Chandler Seipert surprised the world on September 13, 1962, and kept us all on our toes until his sudden departure on June 26, 2025. Born in Missoula, Montana, to Cleon and Dolly Seipert, Mike came into this world as an unexpected (but deeply cherished) miracle. Dolly, who was 46 at the time, may or may not have cried for months leading up to his arrival-but the moment she held him, her heart (and everyone else's) was stolen.

As the baby of the family-by a good eleven and a half years-Mike was doted on from day one, and yes, occasionally recruited to play "the baby" in countless rounds of dress-up. His nieces and nephews became his earliest playmates and lifelong friends, and some say Mike's birth was the answer to his sisters' prayers.

Mike grew up in a whirlwind of camping trips, cousin mischief, and practical jokes-some so elaborate they made the local newspaper. He was happiest surrounded by family, covered in sawdust or dirt, and cracking jokes that may or may not have gotten him into trouble.

In his teenage years, the Seipert family relocated to Blackfoot, Idaho, where Mike graduated from Snake River High School and where he found many of his lifelong friends. Shortly after, he made his way to Utah, where he would spend most of his life as a gifted and self-taught craftsman. Mike had an eye for detail and hands that could build just about anything-from a kitchen cabinet to toys for his grandchildren. He was a proud member of the FFA in his youth and later took joy in deep-sea fishing, hunting, woodworking, and building a life full of meaning, often with nothing more than his tools and his grit.

In 1984, Mike married Jeanette Wilkinson and began their life together in Orem, Utah. They welcomed three wonderful children: Jessica, Danielle, and Chandler. Though Mike and Jeanette later divorced, they remained connected through the love of their family.

In 2004, Mike met Jacqueline Wilkerson. She and her daughter, Jessica, quickly became part of the Seipert clan. After many years together-and persistent, loving nudges from his children and siblings-Mike and Jackie officially tied the knot in 2015.

Mike became a grandfather in 2007 when Jessica's oldest child, Dyson, was born. From that moment on, he was forever known as "Pops". Going to Pop's shop quickly became the routine with every visit. He was often found surrounded by all of the grandkids, out in his shop, each one working on a different project or woodworking tool. Somehow, all of the children would enter the shop clean and come out filthy, but through the dirt and the grime, they created memories that will last them a lifetime.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Dolly, and his brothers Lloyd and Rex. He is survived by his wife Jackie; his children Jessica (Nate), Danielle (Clayton), Chandler, and Jessica W. (Dave); his grandchildren Dyson, Maddox, Stella, Blayke, Mila, Gage, Grayson, Keaton, Blair, and Stetson; and his siblings Venita, Joyce, Larry, Gloria, and Connie.

Mike will be remembered for his generous heart, sharp wit, comedic timing, and his tireless devotion to the people he loved. He had a knack for fixing things-whether it was a broken drawer or a broken heart. He was a father who parented with fierce, unconditional love and taught his children not just to live in the world, but to make it more beautiful, one small act of goodness at a time.

To know Mike was to know loyalty, laughter, and the best stories. He gave more than he took, worked harder than most, and left the world better than he found it. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and often quoted. We cannot imagine a world without him in it, but we know that soon we will be reunited again.
