Merma Winters

Elma Merma Proctor Winters, a vibrant spirit of 90 years, will be remembered fondly as she joyfully danced her way to the next adventure on May 29, 2025, in Lehi, Utah. Born on January 8, 1935, in the charming town of American Fork, Utah, to Darrell Gardner Proctor and Elma Gertrude Wells, Merma lived a life filled with laughter and love.

She found love twice in her life, first marrying Donald Milton Hunter, and later, joining in marriage with Gaylon Winters on August 25, 1974, in Elko, Nevada. Their bond blossomed further when it was solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Merma was known for her infectious humor, always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. Her passions included gardening, exploring the beauty of Mexico, and spending quality time arrowhead hunting with family. Most importantly, she cherished every moment with her beloved family and friends.

Merma leaves behind a loving legacy, including her children: Rick (Bobi) Hunter, Nancy Gray, and Jill Southwick, along with 9 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She follows her husband Gaylon, her parents, two sons-in-law, Glen Gray and Kelly Southwick, and four brothers Jack, Dan, Blair, and Bob into eternal peace.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Merma's remarkable life. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, located at 49 East 100 North. A public viewing will take place prior to the services from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Following the service, we will gather for burial at the American Fork Cemetery, where Merma's spirit will be laid to rest among the beauty of nature.
