Mary Marshall

June 4, 1935 — May 24, 2023

Mary LaVee Marshall, age 87, went to sleep in Jesus at her home in Pleasant Grove, Utah on May 24, 2023. Mary was born on June 4, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Francis David Halladay and Lilly Pearl Roberts Halladay.

Mary joined in marriage to Harris Luther Marshall on April 4th, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mary was a loving and talented lady. She loved God, her family, and her music. Her passion was her music: she played multiple instruments, including the acoustic and electric guitar, accordion, ukulele, flute, piano, clarinet, and wooden xylophone. She also wrote and composed her own music. She even sang and played her electric guitar in the Lehi Rodeo. Mary had many different talents and interests. She was quite the mechanic, rebuilding her prized MGB British Motors sports car.

Mary was a Certified Solo Pilot and received her certification flying a 1910 Vintage Aeroplane. She was also a licensed operator for Ham Radio in the 1960's.

Mary created and built "The Marshall Railroad" which passed through several walls and many rooms of their home. It consisted of many different models of train scales, N, HO, and G gauge railroads, an elaborate town, and snow-capped mountain ranges. The railway buildings and city were so amazing and realistic that the local newspaper wrote a large article about it, including photographs. The newspaper also included photographs of the large, remote-controlled helicopter that she built for her bedridden husband, Harris.

Mary could accomplish anything she put her heart and mind into. She worked at Signetics Integrated Circuits in Orem, Utah for many years.

Mary is survived by her children; Susan (Tony) Sanchez, Robert Marshall, Tom (Kim) Marshall, Greg Marshall, Kirby Marshall, and Nancy Marshall. She leaves behind 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lilly Halladay; husband, Harris Marshall; children, Terry Marshall, Jeffery Marshall, Marjorie Marshall; and great-grandchildren, Autumn Holman and Shataya Cook.

Mary was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend to all and she will be deeply missed!

In keeping with Mary's wishes, there will be no funeral services, but a private family gathering will be held in her honor.
