Mary Garland

November 29, 1933 — May 28, 2018

Mary Teresa Garland, 84, passed away on May 28, 2018 in Cedar Hills, Utah. Born November 29, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Paul Frank Domingo and Mary Dolores Rienhart. She married Robert James Garland on December 1, 1950 in Los Angeles, California.
Teresa married Bob when she was just 17 years old.  A couple of years after they were married she had the first of their 3 children, Glen, Suzanne and DiAnne, each 18 months apart.  As long time Southern California residents, weekends were devoted to the family going on outings to the beach or desert.  California missions and the Los Angeles Arboretum were also favorites.  Teresa worked with children starting as an aide at her children's elementary school and moving on to working with kids in the computer lab.  She retired after 25 years.
Teresa enjoyed outings with the family and had many hobbies.  She was a voracious reader and always had several books at hand.  She had a lifelong love of art which was evident in her dabbling in drawing, watercolors, oils and clay sculpting.  With retirement came her love for quilting and machine embroidery.  She enjoyed selecting fabrics and patterns.  She started knitting making scarves for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Glen (Janet) Garland, Suzanne Schofield, and DiAnne Harter, a brother Michael Domingo, her grandchildren Brian Schofield, Paul (Jamie) Schofield, and Erica Garland, her greatgrandchildren James, Haley, Natalie, Leo, and Maeve. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister Dolores, her granddaughter Robin, her daughter-in-law Yvonne, and her son-in-law Scott.
