Margery was born on April 30, 1938 and passed away September 11, 2022. She was the first child of Leon and Annie McArthur Jennings. She grew up in a happy home where she enjoyed spending time with her siblings, cousins, and grandparents. She was an exceptional student and loved learning throughout her life. From her mother she learned to love artwork especially painting.
She graduated from Dixie High School and Dixie College, then attended Utah State University where she completed a degree in elementary education and more importantly met Paul Peterson, a handsome young man from Cedar Fort. They married on August 12, 1960 in the St. George Temple.
Margery dearly loved her husband Paul and supported him in every facet of his life. They made many friends wherever they lived including Utah, Missouri, and California. They made their final home in American Fork, Utah where they lived for forty three years.
Margery loved being a mother and a homemaker. She worked hard to care for her family growing a garden, canning fruits and vegetables, and baking bread. She also liked to sew and made her children clothing and quilts. She enjoyed decorating her home and caring for her family. She created a place of joy for all who entered her home.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many capacities including Relief Society president and teaching gospel doctrine. Margery and Paul were ordinance workers in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple for many years. She had a love for her pioneer heritage and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She spent thousands of hours searching out her ancestors and compiling family histories.
Margery was blessed by many neighbors and ward members, friends, family, and medical professionals who rendered kind and loving care. Also a special note of sincere gratitude for Dr. Von Welch who was Margery's physician.
She will be missed by her family and many friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Peterson; her daughter Linda Dexter; and her parents Leon and Annie McArthur Jennings.
