LuAnn Kendrick, 85, peacefully passed away at her home on May 16, 2026 surrounded by her family. LuAnn was born on April 3, 1941, to Boyd Rigby Lindquist and Annie Hall in Logan, Utah. After living in Logan for a few years her family moved to Salt Lake City where she grew up.
After High School, LuAnn met the love of her life, Wayne Kendrick. They were married on May 21, 1960. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, and together they built a legacy of love, faith, and service. Together, they raised seven children: Kevin Kendrick, Katy, Texas; Corey (Tamra) Kendrick, North Logan, Utah; Curtis (Susan) Kendrick, Grover, North Carolina; Michael (Susan) Kendrick, Rochester, Minnesota; Kelly (Neal) Leavitt, Pleasant Grove, Utah; Nathan Kendrick, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Tyler (Janelle) Kendrick, South Jordan, Utah. They also adored their 26 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
In 2001, LuAnn and Wayne built and moved into their final home together in American Fork. It was their 40th move in 40 years of marriage. They consider American Fork home as they lived there longer than anywhere else.
LuAnn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ, the Atonement, and the Church. She loved to read and study the scriptures and many other books that strengthened her testimony. She held many callings in the Church, including Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Gospel Doctrine Teacher, and many others. LuAnn loved to serve others including providing meals, feeding the missionaries, and fellowshiping others.
When Wayne retired in 2006, he and LuAnn served a mission for the Church in Newark, New Jersey, a period of their lives they cherished deeply. They stayed in contact with many of the members in that area throughout the remainder of their lives.
LuAnn had an adventurous spirit. She loved to try new things. For her 50th birthday, she went skydiving, which had no effect on her famously picture perfect hair. She would water ski in a blouse and jeans. One of her lifelong wishes was to go shark diving. She traveled around the world with Wayne to Europe, China, Chad (Africa) and Indonesia, where they lived for 2 years.
Throughout her life, she was an avid reader and had a deep love for learning. She enjoyed meaningful conversation and exchanging thoughts and stories. Luann was also a talented writer and artist. Several of her beautiful paintings hung in her home.
Across her life and travels, LuAnn left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her class, kindness, and sense of humor made her a beloved friend. Her home was open to all and she never failed to make others feel loved.
LuAnn is survived by her children and their spouses; her brother Boyd Lindquist, Bountiful, Utah; and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart, Wayne; her parents; and her beloved brother, Wesley.
A private family service will be held in her honor, and she will be laid to rest at the American Fork Cemetery. LuAnn's legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
