Lois Koyle

June 12, 1938 — June 28, 2022

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Lois Patricia Koyle, loving wife of the late Howard Koyle and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away in her home at the age of 84.

Pat was born Lois Patricia Lyons on June 12, 1938, in Alhambra, California, the eldest of four children. She went to school in Southern California and attended Long Beach State College, where she studied music and played trombone in the marching band. She married Howard Koyle in the Los Angeles Temple on November 25, 1959, and together they raised four children of their own, Danita, Kathleen, Sheila, and Kenneth. Pat's family moved to Utah in the summer of 1977, where Pat and Howard would spend the rest of their lives.

Pat was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She visited more than 60 LDS temples during her lifetime, and derived great joy from her participation in church activities. She was a talented musician and sometimes served as a church organist and pianist. She also enjoyed singing and performed with the Chauntenette Women's Chorus for three decades along with her dear friend and companion of 40 years, Joyce Benson, with whom Pat spent the last years of her life in the Orem home they shared. Pat was known and loved for her faith, compassion, sense of humor, and love of laughter.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Howard. She is survived by her brothers Jim and Jay, her sister Margie, and her four children, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In accordance with Pat's wishes, family and friends will gather for a small service at Suncrest 9th Ward, 140 North 400 West, Orem, UT on July 8, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
