It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Bown Lockhart, beloved mother and dedicated musician, who peacefully departed this life on September 30, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on November 24, 1959, Lisa was a passionate cellist, pianist, and organist. She played the cello in the BYU Philharmonic Orchestra, while in college, and also played with Millennial Choirs & Orchestra (MCO) for 18 years. She also shared her talent with her students as a devoted piano teacher, countless people who asked her to accompany them on the piano, and the patrons at the Timpanogos Temple who sat in the chapel while she played the organ.
A true lover of the arts, Lisa's enthusiasm for musicals, plays, and theater radiated throughout her life. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren, and she cherished her role as a mother, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Lisa also held a deep faith, finding solace in the teachings of the scriptures and the beauty of the temple.
Lisa is survived by her devoted husband, Bradford Jay Lockhart, and her beloved children: Jennie (Daniel) Pittman, Jeffrey (Ariel) Lockhart, Bradford "Scott" (Callie) Lockhart, Curtis (Megan) Lockhart, Patrick Lockhart, Julianne (Michael) Oberg, Melanie (Andrew) Finlinson, 16 grandchildren and 2 on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Saturday, October 10, at 11:00 AM, at the Avonmore LDS Chapel (5848 West 11000 North, Highland, Utah 84003) where family and friends will gather to honor her memory. A viewing will take place from 9:15 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Highland City Cemetery, where Lisa will be laid to rest amidst the beauty she cherished so dearly.
Lisa Bown Lockhart will be deeply missed but will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her.
