Laura Anne Stepp Fletcher was born on November 11, 1960, in Centralia, Washington, to Bill and Marie Stepp. Growing up in a large family with six brothers and three sisters as the third oldest child, she became like a second mother to many of her younger siblings. From an early age, she learned to care for, protect, teach, and love those around her. Later in life, she gained two more siblings, proving there was always room in her heart for more.

Laura met her eternal companion, David Fletcher, at Brigham Young University in 1979, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21, 1981. She cherished attending the temple with her husband, and in recent years, they made weekly visits together.

She loved God and others throughout her entire life. That was who she was-as a sister, a wife, a mother of eight, a grandmother, and a friend. She possessed a remarkable capacity to make people feel deeply cared for and found pure joy in helping others, especially children.

In addition to raising her own eight children, Laura willingly devoted her time and talents to caring for the children in her community and faith. She served multiple times as a ward nursery leader and as Primary president. These were never simply Church assignments to her; they were opportunities to love, teach, and nurture. Her genuine ability to make every child feel welcomed and cherished reached far beyond her own home. She spent over thirty years loving and serving in the American Fork 13th Ward.

Above all, Laura was a devoted mother. She poured her love, strength, faith, and countless hours into the lives of her eight children. She taught them not only through her words, but through the way she lived-with service, sacrifice, compassion, perseverance, and unwavering devotion. Her greatest legacy resides in the eight lives she helped shape and the generations that will carry her love and example forward.

Laura is survived by her husband, David; her eight children: Riannon Cutler (Bryant), David W. Fletcher (Sarah), Randall Fletcher (Britt), Morgan Harris (Derek), Jessica Fletcher, Richard Fletcher (Ashlynn), Jennifer Fletcher, and Amy Crosby (Kase); and 13 grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved mother, Marie Stepp, and her brothers and sisters: Kenneth Stepp, Sharon Harris, Joseph Stepp, John Stepp, James Stepp, David Stepp, Richard Stepp, Clara Blume, Amy Taylor, Shirley Schone, and Joey Stepp. Laura was preceded in death by her father, Homer William Stepp, Jr.

She will be greatly missed, but we look forward with faith to being reunited with her again. Services: Monday, Oct 5, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the American Fork 13th Ward Meetinghouse (975 N 60 E, American Fork, UT 84003). A viewing will precede the service from 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Interment: Lehi City Cemetery (1000 N 400 E St, Lehi, UT 84043).
