Kathleen Christensen

Kathleen Ruth Atwater Christensen was born August 24, 1937, to Horace Logan and Sarah Hazel Atwater. She died November 8, 2022, from the progressive effects of Alzheimer's disease and two months to the day after the death of her husband, Allen Clare Christensen. She graduated from Kanab High School at age 16 and received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Brigham Young University. She and Allen were married December 19, 1958, in the Salt Lake Temple. To them were born six children, Ann Marie, Allen Clare, Jr., James Lynn, Niel Daniel, Homer Atwater (deceased) and Eric Wayne. They were foster parents to eight other children. They had twenty-one grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Kathy was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She was an accomplished pianist and taught piano for many years. She always gave of herself never needing the spotlight, loved cats, was practical to a fault, and epitomized patience and kindness. She was truly a saint.

Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served as an organist, accompanist, two missions (total of 4.5 years) in the Philippines San Fernando Mission and Auckland New Zealand, and as a temple ordinance worker.

Survived by her children Ann (Richard) Anderson, Allen (Shannon) Christensen, James (Shellie) Christensen, Daniel (Carollynne) Christensen, Eric (Natalie) Christensen, and her brother Paul Horace (Quaila).

The service for Kathleen Christensen will be held on Saturday, at 10:30 AM at Habor 5th Ward, 239 East 1100 South, American Fork. A viewing will be held Saturday, from 9:00-10:15 AM prior to the services at the church.
