June Stoker

April 17, 1940 — June 12, 2025

June Cook Stoker, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, June 12, 2025 in Salina, Utah.

June was born on the 17th of April, 1940, to Rose Hicks Cook and Kenneth Levon Chandler in Westwood, California.

June spent her early years in California. When her parents divorced, she moved to Utah. Her mother married Rulon William Cook, in 1947, and they moved to Cedar Fort, Utah. She attended Lehi High School and was proud to be a Pioneer.

She married Richard Marlow Stoker on July 2, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. They will celebrate 66 years of marriage together in heaven.

June cherished her family. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and attending their activities whenever possible. She found so much pride in her family and loved them very much. It didn't matter what they were doing, just being together brought her happiness.

June was a nurse (LPN). She worked at nursing homes, group homes and the State Training School in American Fork, Utah. She had a good rapport with the children and grew to love and serve them.

June was always actively serving in her church and community. She helped in the PTA at Hillsdale Elementary in Granger, Utah. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved serving in Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society, in the Granger 7th and Lehi Sego Lily Wards. June enjoyed serving with her husband Richard, working at the Lindon Cannery, and the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.

To know June was to love her, if there was something that came in purple she owned it. She even had a purple bathroom at one time.

June would be the first to get up and dance. She looked forward to dancing in heaven with her husband. June also loved to sing, although she didn't claim to be a good singer, she sang her heart out.

June lived a life of service. She taught her family to serve others. If you were her family, friend or neighbor you may have been lucky enough to get one of her famous chocolate bundt cakes. It was one of the sweetest ways she served.

She is survived by her children: Sandra (Gordon) Koyle, Kevin (Diane) Stoker, Annette (Jim) Calton, Marvin Stoker, Angela (Michael) Cobbley, 24 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren, sister Judy Robinson (Roy, deceased), brother Lamar Cook (Elaine).

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband (Richard), an infant daughter (Jeannette) and great grandson (Aiden Gauger). The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to At Home Healthcare and Hospice for their loving care. June cherished the stories and laughs you shared with her.

We would also like to thank our Granny Nannies, who lovingly entertained and cared for Mom and Phyllis (Calton). A special thanks to our Earthly Angel, Wynona Mangrum, we will be eternally grateful for your love and kindness.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21st, 1:00 PM at the Sego Lily Ward Chapel, 880 N. 700 E. Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday evening, June 20th from 6-8 pm. Viewing will also be previous to the service, 11:30-12:30 pm, at the same location. Interment will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
