It is with heavy and grieving hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved and one-of-a-kind son, Joshua Kimball Maybury, born on January 2, 2003, in Sacramento, California, who left us far too soon on March 25, 2026. Joshua was known for his kind heart, vibrant spirit, unique laughter, and a deep love for his family and things that brought him joy. He loved his brothers deeply and cherished his time with his sister. He was on his path towards the electrician field, and enjoyed drawing, tennis, and exploring the world of video games. He attended concerts with his dad, which bonded them deeply. He spent time with his mother laughing, cooking, and engaging in conversations about philosophy and psychology.
Joshua's warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
Joshua was survived by his father, James Maybury, and his mother, Shayla Juárez. His siblings: Alexander (Devony) Maybury, Daniel (Janessa) Maybury, and Isabella Maybury. His grandparents Walter (Jenene) Maybury. His great-aunts: Christena Peterson and Maren Schloeman, and his uncle: Michael (Lili) Juarez, who profoundly impacted his life. As well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He now joins his wonderful grandmothers, great aunts, great uncles, great-grandpa, and his sibling, Jordan, and his two dogs, Koda and Shadow, who we know greeted him with open arms...and paws.
A viewing will take place at the Crossroads 1st Ward on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 9:45 AM, followed by a funeral service to celebrate Joshua's life beginning at 11:00 AM. We invite all those who knew Joshua to join us in coming together to honor his incredible spirit. After the service, we will lay him to rest at the Saratoga Springs Cemetery.
As we remember Joshua, let us hold on to the joy he brought into our lives and keep his memory alive in our hearts, our laughter, and our actions.
