Joseph Keyes

February 7, 2003 — July 11, 2025

Joseph Alan Keyes, born on February 7, 2003, in Murray, Utah to Sterling and Amy Keyes. He left this world far too soon on July 11, 2025, being only 22 years old. He was a loving husband, a devoted son, and a cherished friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

With a smile that could brighten any room, Joseph was the type of person who made everyone feel special. His outgoing nature and infectious laughter drew people in, and he was known for being a best friend to so many. Family, faith, and a love for others stood as the foundation for every aspect of his life. As a strong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he held fast to his beliefs and courageously stood for the truths he believed in, even if that meant standing alone.

Joseph served a mission in Brazil, where he connected with and uplifted countless lives through the light of Jesus Christ. Once again, his bright and genuine smile drew others in, allowing them to experience the same joy he did. In all his joy, he approached life with compassion, often helping others in quiet, meaningful ways that only they would recognize. His protective love for his only sister, Kaitlyn, showcased his caring nature, while his dedication to his studies in nursing reflected his commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. In all interactions Joseph had with others, his deep and profound love was personally felt by each individual.

Outside of his studies, Joseph enjoyed a good game of soccer. He had a passion for the arts, often pouring his creativity into charcoal drawings. Music and theatre were significant parts of his life as well; he loved singing and acting, performing with various choral groups and in many plays during his high school years. Joseph also had a knack for bringing people together, often organizing fun get-togethers. From Nerf gun wars to game nights, Joseph always ensured that joy filled the air among family and friends.

Most recently, Joseph was thrilled about becoming a father. He shared ultrasound pictures and spoke excitedly about his son, (who is to be called Seth), marveling at the little one's development and the adventures to come. He continually strived to become the father his future children would follow after, proving himself in all that he provided for his wife Kristina and their unborn son.

He is survived by his wife Kristina, his unborn son, Seth, his parents: Sterling & Amy Keyes and Claudia & Adam Ririe, his siblings Michael, Kaitlyn, Benjamin, and Ammon, his grandparents Tim & Becky Rees and Bob & Marilyn Keyes. He was preceded in death by his aunt Kaylene.

Joseph's legacy will be celebrated in the company of those who loved him. A public viewing will be held at the American Fork East Stake Center, 825 E 500 N, American Fork on July 18, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will follow on July 19, 2025, in the East Stake Center at 1:00 PM, where all are invited to reflect on the joyful moments he gave us and the love he shared.

In the hearts of all who treasured him, Joseph will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, boundless love, and the indelible mark he left on all our lives.
