John S Lee

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John S. Lee, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, history enthusiast, and cherished friend, who left this world peacefully from natural causes on February 16, 2026, at his home in Cedar Hills, Utah. John was 66 years old.

John's love for history was infectious. For 15 years, he dedicated his life to shaping young minds as a history professor, leaving a lasting impact on countless students. He had a special place in his heart for teaching on an Indian reservation in Arizona, where he inspired a new generation with his passion for the stories of our past. His engaging presence and sharp wit made history come alive in the classroom.

Beyond the walls of academia, John was very sociable. A great talker, he loved to connect with people over lively discussions and shared stories. He also had a very distinctive sense of humor. John often said and did things in his own unique way that left people laughing. His warm smile and hearty laughter could brighten any room, and he was often found surrounded by family and friends, sharing his love for good food, good company, and history.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Theresa C. Lee.

John is survived by his beloved spouse, Caroline Lee; his son, Michael Lee; and his brother Jason Lee, who will forever cherish their shared adventures and laughter. The memories they created together are a true testament to their love and bond, one filled with joy, warmth, and a mutual appreciation of history's rich tapestry.

Family and friends are welcome to participate in John's service which will be held on Saturday the 28th of February at 11 AM at Manila Creek 8th Ward building (3785 W Box Elder Drive, Cedar Hills, UT). Prior to the service a viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 AM.
