He is survived by his wife Melinda Johnson, his four children John [Lena Robbins], Kathryn [Andrew Gerber], Sarah [Spencer Clark], and Rachel Clark and his four siblings, Margaret [David Zappitello], Melinda [Warren Pressler], David Clark [Jolene], and Richard Clark [Cynthia]. His parents and his brother George Clark and sister Elizabeth Clark preceded him in death.
John lived in Rolla for 14 years before moving to Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Bernadino, California. He graduated from BYU Provo with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. While at BYU, he met his beloved wife Melinda Johnson and they were married in the Provo, Utah temple September 30, 1983. They have lived in Alpine, Utah since 1996.
John loved his work as a software engineer. He worked for several companies including Novell, Dynex, Omniture and most recently, Adobe. He also loved to work with his hands and spent lots of time remodeling his home, gardening, and building things. He was a hard worker and set an example of excellence and diligence in all that he did.
John has served in many callings in his church: choir director, ward clerk, ward executive secretary, stake clerk, music director, primary teacher, elder's quorum president, and temple and family history director. He was attentive to detail and was always noticing the things that needed to be done to make everything run smoothly. He loved music and enjoyed putting together musical numbers and small singing groups and taking beautiful and uplifting music to those around him, especially those in need.
John was a gentle spirit and a wise soul. He was versatile, gifted, knowledgeable, and always showing up however he could. John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He cared deeply for those around him. He was a very fun father and grandfather and was always coming up with creative ways to entertain his family. Most of all, we know he loved the Savior deeply and was completely devoted to Him. We will miss you!
