On September 22, 2025, we lost a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, James Patrick Weiss, at the age of 84. Born on March 17, 1941, in Muskegon, Michigan, James lived a life dedicated to service, family, and faith. He resided in Ivins, Utah at the time of his passing, where he found peace and joy in his later years.
James proudly served in the U.S. Navy, reflecting his commitment to his country and his values. An active member of the Latter Day Saints, he found fulfillment in his faith and dedicated many years to service, including a mission to Atlanta Georgia. His passion for knowledge was evident in his membership in Mensa, and his extraordinary talents in accounting earned him recognition as one of the top 10 accountants in America.
A voracious reader and lover of games, James enjoyed countless hours playing cribbage with family and friends, often bringing joy and laughter to gatherings. His dedication to his craft as an Accountant was paralleled only by his devotion to his family. James was a proud father to his son, James Weiss, and a cherished grandfather to his four grandchildren: Patrick, Nicholas, Rebecca (Benjamin) Bevan, and Samantha (David) Densley. He treasured the time spent with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who blazed bright trails in his heart.
James is survived by his beloved sister, Jean Lee, and brother, Bill Weiss, along with stepchildren Ron (Debra) Olson, Scott Olson, and Heidi (Mitchell) Buck. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Weiss; his grandson, Nicholas; his brothers, Chuck and Don; and his recently departed son, Tim, and daughter, Sue Olson.
In our hearts, James Patrick Weiss will remain forever cherished. His legacy of generosity, kindness and unwavering faith will continue to inspire us all.
